Christmas at the Cathedral

2022 Highlights

Christmas at the Cathedral attracted massive crowds to St Mary’s Cathedral forecourt with over 180,000 people attending the Event over the 18-day period.

The event’s theme centered on hope and peace amidst struggle. The light show began by capturing God’s Holy Spirit hovering over the waters of creation, transforming them into a life-giving spring, sustaining every kind of living thing. It reminded us of the strength of our community coming together after the devastating floods in NSW and the importance of community in our lives.

The Opening Night event was held in the Cathedral forecourt with Archbishop Anthony Fisher OP and the Hon. Damien Tudehope MLC, representing the Premier of NSW officially launching Christmas at the Cathedral 2022.

The market stalls were an astounding success, offering a combination of both Christmas gift shopping as well as various food options.
